Frequently asked questions

When is Open Enrollment in California?
Covered California's Open Enrollment is generally November 1 to January 31. Outside that period you can only enroll if you have a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) due to a qualifying event: loss of coverage, marriage, birth, etc.
How much subsidy can I receive?
It depends on your household income and number of people. In California, families with incomes up to 400% of the federal poverty level may qualify. Some plans can be free or nearly free.
